Miss Nebraska - Teresa Scanlan | Youngest Miss America 2011 :
Miss America 2011, was the 90th Miss America pageant which started 90 years ago, in 1921. The Miss America Organization celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2011 that was held at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on January 15, 2011. Delegates from the 50 states and the District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico competed for the title of Miss America 2011. The pageant was broadcast live on ABC. This was the first pageant telecast on ABC since Miss America 2005. 17-year-old Teresa Scanlan, Miss Nebraska was named Miss America 2011 after edging past 52 other fellow contestants. She is the youngest Miss America crowned since the pageant started in 1921.

Miss America 2011 started with a stage full of 53 contestants at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. After the swimsuit, evening gown, talent and interview competitions, there was one woman left standing to inherit the crown from Miss America 2010 Caressa Cameron. Teresa Scanlan, the youngest ever Miss Nebraska, is also a talented pianist. Miss America 2010, Caressa Cameron from Virginia, crowned her successor Teresa Scanlan from Nebraska at the end of this event. After being crowned the winner of the 2011 Miss America Pageant, she burst into tears and raised her arms up as Cameron pinned the crown to her head.

The judges were Joy Behar from ABC's The View, Miss America 1990 Debbye Turner Bell, television executive producer Mark Cherry, dancer Tony Dovolani from Dancing with the Stars, actress Marilu Henner, orthopedic surgeon and shoe designer Taryn Rose, and country singer Mark Wills. Miss America contestants, Kelsi Crain, Miss Louisiana, Lauren Werhan, Miss Kansas and Djuan Keila, Miss Kentucky, line up to appear on stage during the "Show Us Your Shoes" parade as part of the Miss USA contest.
